[79] Is Your Body Weight A Constant Battle?
Your Intuition Is Calling: Soul-Deep Weight Loss
Hi, my name is Elise Lebeau. I’m the Left Brain Intuitive, and your intuition is calling. Let’s see what it has to say. Today, we’re talking about weight loss, but a very specific kind of weight loss. I call it soul-deep weight loss because it’s not about getting tips and tricks on how to eat fewer carbs and go to the gym.
When Intuition Can Help
This is not about finding ways to motivate you like a drill sergeant screaming at you to get out of bed. And it’s definitely not about anything that makes you feel bad. It’s deeper than that. It’s more than just skin-deep. The problem we’re trying to solve is that you’ve been feeling stuck when it comes to losing weight.
You’ve already tried a lot of stuff. That’s usually when people come to me for an intuitive reading. Over the 20 years I’ve been giving readings, there are some powerful, intuitive insights that are fairly common to this particular problem.
Intuitive Weight Loss: Why Am I Heavier Than I Want?
Now, there are all kinds of biological reasons and things you can do with your logical mind, but this is not why we’re here. We’re here to look beyond that.
1. Feeling Unsafe
One of the big reasons why you are heavier than you want is that your body might be trying to protect you. For example, if you’re a very sensitive person and you’re in a crowd, it’s very easy to lose yourself in the noise of other people’s energy.
Maybe you’re not aware that when you walk into a shopping mall or the office, you’re now listening to a lot of energy chatter because you’re sensitive to other people’s energy.
A person like that, who is very sensitive, walks into a room full of people and feels lost in the noise. A great way to feel anchored is to be heavy.
As you store more fat, you’re heavier, so you have a stronger presence in your body. This is one of the most common reasons why your physical body is heavier than you want. It’s trying to do something good for you. And I know you’re probably angry at it and it’s probably a battle. The whole weight loss thing can feel like a tug of war. But what if your body is actually trying to help you by grounding you?
These kinds of reasons are intuitive reasons. Basically, we’re using intuition to figure out the root cause of this problem. And, just spilling the beans here, the root cause is usually not that you’re lazy or lack self-control. From an intuitive perspective, there’s usually a very good reason why you are heavier than you want. In this case, it’s a protective reason.
If that resonated with you, now you’re solving the right problem. Instead of figuring out how to eat fewer carbs, you need to figure out how to make yourself feel safer when you go to the office, the mall, or any group situation.
All of a sudden, your body doesn’t need you to be this heavy, and it can release some of the fat you’re holding. Isn’t that amazing? There’s no extra effort here because you solved the problem your body is struggling with. You and your body are a team, and you both want to be happy in this skin.
2. Feeling Empty
The second most common intuitive insight about why you might be heavier than you want is that you might feel empty. There’s a hole somewhere, and your body is trying to fill that hole with food. There are all kinds of things you can do with your logical mind to deal with this. You can go to therapy or read self-help books, but I’m going to give you an intuitive one.
When we feel empty and try to fill that hole with food, all kinds of little things are calling to us that are fulfilling. We often pick food over those other things because it’s more readily available, or maybe this is what we learned as a child. We saw our parents deal with problems with food, or maybe we just don’t know that this is the problem we’re trying to solve. When we feel empty, what we’re looking for is a sense of fulfillment. That is why you’re heavier than you want. Your life is calling for more fulfillment.
Finding Fulfillment
Fulfillment sounds like this big thing, right? “Oh, I need to find my life purpose.” Well, actually, no. It’s much simpler than that. Fulfillment is all the little things you do on a daily basis that make you feel like your soul is full to the brim.
For example:
- If you are Christian, maybe praying in church makes you feel full. When you have the urge to eat and you know you’re not hungry, you can pray to feel full.
- If you have grandchildren, think about them like a little mini-movie playing in your head of their beautiful little faces. Feel full of love. Before reaching for that late-night snack, do that first. Pray—not for weight loss, but because you’re happy to be connected to God. It feels good and fills your heart.
As you do that, your body will stop calling for more food because you are filling this emptiness with something so much more nutritious.
3. Feeling Unhappy
The third reason why you might be heavier than you want is that you are unhappy in your life, and food is a little bit of happiness.
Maybe you love to cook and eat, and that’s part of your happiness. It’s your number one strategy for happiness because the other aspects of your life are not so happy. Or maybe there’s one aspect of your life where you’re really unhappy, and instead of being able to fix that one, you’re overusing your favorite strategy.
There’s nothing wrong with the fact that food makes you happy. If there are seven other things that make you happy, it’s perfectly cool that food is one of them. But if food is pretty much your go-to strategy to feel happy, then it’s out of balance.
Building New Intuitive Habits
The thing is, now that you are identifying the root cause problem, it’s a gradual process to replace the old habit with a new one and have a more diversified strategy for happiness. This is not hard like going to the gym. You don’t have to leave the house to pray or think about your grandkids. You don’t have to leave the house to get out your coloring book and color like a little kid because that makes you happy. You don’t have to do anything fancy here, but it’s not a habit yet.
Creating that habit means that sometimes you’ll make the fancy tea and still want to eat the cookies. And you know what? That’s okay. Answer the call of your body while developing a new habit based on your intuitive insight. Because, at the end of the day, you do need to feel grounded, fulfilled, and happier. If food is doing that for you, then thank God something is doing that for you. Can you imagine if there was nothing there? That would be worse.
Start Where You Are…
I am grateful that you have a strategy for feeling more grounded, fulfilled, and happier. Even though right now it’s making you heavier than you want, I am grateful that there’s something there. We’re upgrading. We’re adding diversity in the ways you feel fulfilled, grounded, and happy.
